I've two reasons to prefer firefox over the Mac's native Safari, which I've used as my default for two years.

• Firefox opens text files by default, where Safari opens the Finder, and with some fumbling around, you can open the file in an editor.
• In a paper I'm working on, I discuss how Firefox allows management of window _target_s in a more useful manner.
